Comcast Employee Review
Comcast – “Good Job. Great people. Mediocre pay and benefits.”
Pros
Free cable tv package and high-speed internet
Discounted home phone line and DVR's
Ability of some employees to voice concerns to management in semi-monthly "Focus meetings"
Free uniforms
Great people to work with in my immediate work group. We have a very tight and productive team.
We're provided with the equipment and tools necessary to perform work duties
Cons
Work load.
We had a decent benefits package. Hourly pay has always been 30-50% lower than competition (Fairpoint, Verizon whose top-pay tops out at $35/hr guaranteed after 4.5 years for field techs) but a good work environment and adequate benefits package was acceptable. But with the recent company decision to cutback the 401k match by 25% and drastically increase the health-care premiums, as much as 30%, despite posting a 53% profit increase in Q2 2009 and a 22% profit increase Q3 2009 has many wondering, "Customer First.....Employees Last????"
Advice to Senior Management
Don't be hypocrites! When your CEO is named to the top 5 overpaid CEO's in America list by cnnmoney.com and is the #1 highest paid CEO in america (as reported by Equilar.com) DON'T CUT YOUR EMPLOYEES BENEFITS AND PAY and site the bad economy as an excuse. Not when the company continues to grow revenue and profits BECAUSE of the employees hard work.
