Pros

Good compensation and benefits. High quality products with near-universal brand recognition.

Cons

Fairly unresponsive chain of communication between upper managment and field-level representatives. Performance metrics imposed on employees create conflict between employees and customers--this is the real reason for Comcast's longstanding customer service woes, and it's apparently inextricably embedded in the corporate culture.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can't fix damage to brand from customer service woes by simply changing the name. (Especially since, years later, Comcast is still a much more valuable brand than Xfinity). The solution is actually to modify employee performance metrics to incentivize situation-specific common sense employee-customer interactions. The damage is actually being done as employees are forced to exploit loopholes in the constantly shifting performance metrics in order to meet quotas.

    Make the floor managers get on the regular phones at least once a month so they actually know what we are dealing with

    Pros

    Management takes notice of you quickly when you exceed expectations and put forth your best efforts

    Cons

    Employees with seniority does not like new competition; upper management has no clear direction to low level employees and quick to take sides

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Weed out those that can't work with new hires in a field where turnover is rampant
