Former Employee - Residential Account Executive in San Jose, CA

Pros

Good compensation and benefits. High quality products with near-universal brand recognition.

Cons

Fairly unresponsive chain of communication between upper managment and field-level representatives. Performance metrics imposed on employees create conflict between employees and customers--this is the real reason for Comcast's longstanding customer service woes, and it's apparently inextricably embedded in the corporate culture.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can't fix damage to brand from customer service woes by simply changing the name. (Especially since, years later, Comcast is still a much more valuable brand than Xfinity). The solution is actually to modify employee performance metrics to incentivize situation-specific common sense employee-customer interactions. The damage is actually being done as employees are forced to exploit loopholes in the constantly shifting performance metrics in order to meet quotas.

Current Employee - Sales Manager in Denver, CO

    Pros

One of the best cable services in the country. They have some very talented employees.

    Cons

Upper management has a very twisted outlook on their employees. Churn and burn them is their motto. Marketing is exploited because they are not regulated and can attack competition in the media.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to what you know best, cable tv services. Uncover and be honest about your voice and data services and stop hiding behind being a non regulated company. Hire and career path your talented employees.

    Cons

Employees with seniority does not like new competition; upper management has no clear direction to low level employees and quick to take sides
