I have been working at Comcast full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fast-paced environment, ability to work on cutting-edge projects

Advice to Management

Have a more balanced approach to your employees; value more than just senior management and the techs.

I have been working at Comcast full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Heavy discount on cable, phone, security, and internet service.

    Cons

Low pay with a lot of policies and procedures that make what would be an enjoyable career very stressful.

    Advice to Management

If the company would pay a wage comparable to their competitors (competitors mostly only install less services) they would have more happy employees which would result in happier customers.

I have been working at Comcast full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good salary, great benefits package, generally relaxed atmosphere. To its credit, Comcast is attempting to emulate other successful high-tech companies in order to attract more high-tech talent, but these efforts have been only marginally successful thus far.

    Cons

Generally clueless managers with an old-school, rank-hath-its-privileges attitude, too many layers of management, much competitive friction between management empires within the company, difficulty in getting resources needed to do the job, and politics, politics, politics. Political ninjas can and do advance rapidly here.

    Advice to Management

Comcast needs to separate its research and development from the rest of the company, and nobody should be allowed into this organization without a master's degree (at least) from a highly-reputable university.
