I worked at Comcast

Pros

There are absolutely no reasons. Comcast has the tallest building in Philadelphia, and rest of the satellite offices are managed very professionally.

Cons

It is all the time fire fighting with no planning or thought. In my 1.5 years, there was not a single town hall meeting.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Knowledge sharing as to be encouraged. Management should highlight the vision and the business objectives to all the employees in the firm.

I have been working at Comcast

    Pros

The benefits are great and the company is always expanding it's technology and grows with the variety of changes in technology. The pay grade is comfortable and you have a variety of conditions to work under that are clearly explained and expected you succeed towards understanding and applying towards your job.

    Cons

The growth opportunity within the company is difficult and an extremely political and the company has a mindset that you must take a pay grade cut in order to advance to supervisory positions. Lack of advancement within the company is limited and extremely political.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire from within the company and hire supervisors that actually have experience within the cable industry and understand the concepts towards the positions.

    I worked at Comcast

    Pros

Good coworkers, good supervisors, good benefits package, and a comfortable work place. Supervisors are very supportive, and when it comes to feed back they are honest and forthcoming.

    Cons

Management looks more at sales numbers than technical skill when choosing support teams. I've seen people who worked there for 4 years who know the job like the back of their hand get the bench while someone right out of training who barely remembers their password get a Team Lead position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look more at the skill of your employees and less at the numbers when making support groups. Someone who may not be able to sell on every call may be the best choice to help with technical issues.
