I have been working at Comerica full-time for more than a year

Pros

Each office is run like a small bank so it doesn't feel micro-managed.
Great benefits
Good work/ life balance
Long-tenure of employees and promotions from within
Solid underwriting and common sense approach
Each deal is customized to the customer which provides for more opportunity

Cons

Somewhat hierachical structure beyond individual office
Formal culture that can tend to limit innovation
Somewhat slow to adopt new technologies

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Frequently assess processes/ initiatives to see if they are still relevant and ask for suggestions from employees who are on the front-lines. Less top-down approach and more bottom-up initiatives. Employees on the front lines are most aware of customer desires and competition.

    I worked at Comerica full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Consumer and business traffic in the banking center was very little. Therefore one could deliver very good customer service.

    Cons

    Systems is out dated. They need more progressive features if they want to compete with the top five banks in america.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    When you hire someone from another bank does not mean their idea is new.

    Pay was great and benefits as well

    Pushed too much on mortgage leads

    Develop better training resources. i was let go because apparently "my retention of information was low". It was information i had no clue i was suppose to know at that time
