Pros

The company was built on ingenuity and grew to be quite admired. There are several divisions that could give an individual opportunity to grow professionally.

Cons

The leadership is lacking. Technology is a somewhat backward. Although on the surface all seems to be great there are very negative undercurrents that create a difficult atmosphere to thrive in.

Advice to Management

There have been many changes in personnel and benefits, hopefully steps are being taken to mend morale and build the company back to the successful and highly regarded entity it was in the early 2000's.

I worked at Commercial Metals (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I loved most of the time I spent at CMC. The people are great, pay and benefits are about average. Managers can be pretty understanding and flexible.

    Cons

Little to no room for advancement. Corporate managers in Irving are to quick to pat themselves on the back for a job well done without understanding what is happening on a local level and quickly distance themselves from any wrong doing they may cause.

    Advice to Management

Corporate Management - The local managers and sales people know the business, so swallow your pride and learn the products and services that the company actually provides. Just because you learned something in school or it worked in another industry doesn't mean it will here.
