I worked at Commonwealth of Massachusetts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

union position, manageable workload, great office location, treated like a "person" (manager recognizes typical life problems such as sickness and family issues)

    Cons

disorganized, disjointed goals, lack of/poor communication, quick fix decision making, lack of resources available, hire based on "who you know" and not actual qualifications

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Years of experience in state government does not equal quality. Compensate employees for their hard work and in order to keep them.
