Pros

You get to work with kids and actually help them in the schools. It's so much easier to focus on achieveing small steps in school rather than counseling for bad behavior alone. You work with school staff, students, and families. The reward is great to see students get promoted every year and literally watch them grow! There are 5 non-profits under the umbrella of CIS so if you want a change, a lateral change is fairly easy and they will work with you if your work stands out. DIrectors are supportive and your work is pretty autonomous. If you work hard and connect well with kids, you will see the fruits of your labor within 1-2 years.

Cons

There is not much upward growth and funding can be an issue.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a better awareness of each team and know how to change communication tactics with various groups. You have a great open door policy to all employees. It would be nice to have end of year reviews too so management and staff can evaluations and learn how to improve
