Community Health Systems – “Good for shareholders -- bad for employees”
Pros
Viable, cash rich, numerous assets, ability to transfer to other facilities while maintaining seniority
Cons
Central business model utilizes "cookie cutter" approach to all facilities and regions. Local senior/executive mgmt lack integrity and honesty in a fashion similar to Enron. High mgmt turnover -- new cno/cfo/coo annually. Few middle mgmt with greater than 2 years tenure.
Advice to Senior Management
Although the "vitals" look good (ie: reported indicators), the foundation is crumbling from within. The indicators fail to reveal the most important assessments of a healthy organization. Find out what is occuring within an organization. What aren't your CEO's sharing?
