I worked at CommunityAmerica Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Non for profit Has good medical benefits, inc. HSA Has great products for members/customers

Cons

Passes by on inside employeesfor managent candidates and prefers to hire outside the company Doesn't value career planning Manegment doesn't know what their doing and believes in bank pratices Calls themselves a credit union but really is like a bank

Advice to Management

Think outside the box. Value innovation and newer ideas. Hire people that are not all the same personality type.

    Pros

    The money is okay, but the level of communication from management down the line is awful.

    Cons

    There is no communication from the top dogs to the peons in the field.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your lower level employees with respect - that's why you lose good people.

    Pros

    Benefits are adequate. Good work life balance.

    Cons

    Don't promote from within which seems to be contradictory to current senior management. Most of them worked their way up the ladder. Probably realizing that was a mistake since most business decisions go against mainstream academia. Don't value education. Pay is not very competitive abd there seems to be a double standard when comparing manager raises versus non-manager raises. Senior Management is currently promoting this new age philosophy which is very hokie. THis new culture change is being led by the CEO and Senior Management acts as if they are buying into it but are not consistent with practicing this new culture attitude when interacting with other employees.

    Advice to Management

    With so many Senior Managers why do you resort to consultants so much? Need to promote from within and value advanced degrees.
