I have been working at Compass Group USA

Pros

I have found that Compass' business plans offer attainable sales goals with realistic expenditure percentages. This translates to descent bonuses at the end of the year. They also take the time to offer proper training for their employees.

Cons

In the three years I've been employed by Compass in the Richmond area I have held three separate positions. This may seem positive since promotions are great, however, compensation for these three promotions were minimal.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people what they are worth. 36k for a 56k position isn't even close.

    Work ends at an earlier hour than other kitchen jobs would.

    Cons

    No work life balance even though that is all the company talks of as they hire you.

    Pros

    Free food, BUT only limited items that didn't cost them much to produce!

    Cons

    WAY overworked. Manditory 50 hour work week, was more like 55-60.
    One week vacation for management in first year?!
    Rediculous amount of company hoops to jump through and HR programs to complete.
    Constantly verbally abused by a manager and when I told my supervisor about it, I was told I had to deal with it. I left very shortly after that.
    NO CLUE how to run a sales department. We had no goals or sales incentives at all. When I asked for my yearly monitary sales goals, I was told "I'm not going to tell you because then you will hit them and not go any further." ?!?!?!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try practicing what you preach.
