I have been working at Competitive Consulting

Pros

Business revenue is up year over year. One of the few firms in expansion mode.
Good work life balance. No weekends, except to cover meetings.

Cons

Processes are woefully inadequate. Project profitability is difficult to calculate, yet it remains the key determinant for job performance. Time management requires putting out a lot of fires.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to terminate substandard performers. Find a competent CFO to manage finances. Develop protocols to manage projects and stick with it. Too often ideas are put forth and then dropped or ignored.

I worked at Competitive Consulting full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Account managers were all fun, out going and around the same age

Atmosphere was focused around teaming, positive encouragement

    Cons

Relationships were emphasized because the actual job and opportunity were tough to get on board with; "branch leader" pretended to care about individuals -- and only the ones that made him money

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    don't be a faker
