I worked at Competitor Group full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

- young, active environment
- bike racks
- travel

Cons

- absurdly low compensation.
- detached, uninvolved senior management
- health plan sucks
- private equity owned and looking to sell and make big bucks off what the employees built.
- has media properties, but they aren't even on mgmt radar.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

sell the company asap and leave. new ownership is what the place needs.

    I have been working at Competitor Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Travel all over the country
    -Great co-workers! The hardest working bunch of people you will ever meet!
    -Flexible hours
    -Group runs/exercise classes. We like to stay fit!

    Cons

    -Over worked and underpaid.
    -Long work weekends at events. (3am wake up calls, 12+ hours of manual labor...)
    -Compensation is extremely low. Don't expect to ever get a decent raise.
    -Culture is getting better but by only way of the employees.
    -You will work LOTS of overtime and NOT get paid. This is regular occurrence for most employees.
    -There is little to no training for any position-be prepared to be thrown into the fire!
    -High turnover rate for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reward employees that work hard and stick around. Culture starts from the top. Compensate employees properly for overtime worked.
