Not a real good experience. Quit a good job to go to work with CompuCom only to be laid off 9 weeks later.

Current Employee - Desktop Support Technician in Dallas, TX

    Pros

It's a job. And a good first one for IT. I got the job and have learned a lot of things in performing the position.

    Cons

Poor pay, poor benefits, no raises, no rewards, no recognition. This company is filled with incompetent people, and when/if a promotion becomes available, you better believe there will be some lifers way ahead of you.

Former Employee - Data Architect in Dallas, TX

    Pros

    - Good Work Life Balance
    - On site Gym
    - OK Benefits
    - One could retire here if there is no aspiration for growth in career

    Cons

    - Flat organization. Less number of managers and getting into management is very tough
    - Salaries are less compared to the industry
    - Not for people who have aspirations for growth
    - Run by Private Equity and that it very conservative

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be a review of strategy to promote employees with caliber. CompuCom has a risk of losing good employees to competition for this reason. The salaries are less than desirable.
