I have been working at CompuCom full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits and PTO. Flexible scheduling. The ability to work from home (if you are in the right department.)

    Cons

No room to move up in the company, nor do they offer any incentives or substantial pay raises when the rare opportunity does come up. They are off shoring more and more positions to Mexico and the overall quality of work is definitely degrading.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with your employees. Don't beat around the bush or hide information from your employees. Off shoring work is essential the same as out sourcing, even though you are saying it is not ... you are moving jobs out of the USA. Just because you can save money on the front end doesn't mean you will be making more on the backend. The quality of work is not the same.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Multiple accounts in differing geographical regions give you some options as far as mobility is concerned. If you want to skate by, this is your place.

    Cons

This company is consistenly in the lower third of pay scales, regardless of position. They will keep underperforming employees just to maintain consistent customer billing (thus, putting undue pressure upon those who must take up the slack for their peers).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop offering stupid $25 gift certificates and PAY your employees. Pressuring overworked employees to engage in local volunteerism so that the company can play the 'we care about the community' card is foolhardy.
