Great people to work with. Very smart, very dedicated. And with the company being so large, there is a lot of variety for job opportunities, if you can figure out how to connect (and if they are not restructuring or in a hiring freeze).

Being primarily in the labor arbitrage (i.e., outsourcing) space, they place no value on individual employees. They believe anyone -- literally, anyone, billable or not -- can be replaced by someone cheaper. So that's how they treat everyone.

Last months of 2012 (and continuing on after I left) were rife with layoffs due to restructuring that not even the management/executives could influence. All driven by some turnaround consulting firm that turned a blind eye to expertise, value to company, or even if their executive said they were irreplaceable. Simply awful. And this after years of constant layoffs, cost cutting, and benefits reductions. And not only do they lay you off, but they capped severance at 8 weeks no matter how many years you've worked at the company.

The only thing worse than getting booted is being one of the poor unfortunate few who kept their jobs who are stuck with the same mandate, but no resources to fulfill the mission.

Simply horrible.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Laurie - you run the company, not BCG. If you were serious about turning the company around, you should get involved in what's happening and make the decisions.
