I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

It is much better than being unemployed Support for continuing education (college/masters) if you can get it approved Some really good people to work with If you are straight out of college, you are not expensive and have a good chance of getting a job. Get your two years experience, then leave for a better company

Cons

Morale of everyone I talk to in the company is the worst I have ever seen. CSC is very inventive a finding ways to cut compensation in a different way every year 401K company match delayed to end of year Multiple years with either pay cuts, no budgeted increases (for anyone) or very small increases Health plan premiums went up a lot last year, even with going to catastrophic coverage With all the layoffs, workload on the remaining staff is more unreasonable than before Although restructuring was announced as being complete, layoffs have continued Upper management compensation way out of line, check out what the CEO got last year Employees pay more in additional health care premiums than what they get in raises.

Advice to Management

Management says our employees are the companies most valuable resource. Stop treating us like were are an expense that stands in the way of greater profitability. Stop telling us layoffs are done when we can see that they aren't.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

1)Large global installed base of clients 2)Company needed to change in order to stay relevant so"transformation" under new CEO is underway 3)New CSC strategy makes sense

    Cons

1)The operating model is overly complex with no real improvement over the past 2)Leadership is not honest and transparent with employees 3)Sr. Leadership team works in fear of CEO 24/7 which leads to indecision / no decision due to lack of confidence as well as an inability in dealing with tough issues for fear of retribution by the CEO 4)Organic growth will erode due to an over worked and under appreciated front line of talent leaving the CEO to perform quarterly "buy/sell transactions" for earnings call discussions

    Advice to Management

Establish a Human Capital Strategy that is real and you will generate major accolades and "buy-in" from the employees which will lead to improved delivery and customer satisfaction
