I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Plenty of new opportunities for new employees, the company has gone through significant change to become a more agile consulting firm, and made some recent new key senior management hires. Excellent work/life balance, and fair pay. There is a large number of new employees who are excited about making change.

Cons

We are at the tail end of a turn around, so there are still some bumpy roads ahead. You will still run into a minority of employees who have been with the company for a long time who are bitter about the recent changes where the company cut back benefits and budgets to be more competitive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

New management seems to be focused on the right issues, but management needs to be prepared to invest as the turnaround yields financial results.

    Pros

I enjoyed working at CSC for many years. I had the opportunity to move up in my career and the people are great and always willing to help you.

    Cons

The bad news is that CSC has changed over time and new management doesn't seem to care about the employees. Many employees are being laid off with very little notice. The employees that are still there are all very anxious about their jobs and wonder if they will be next for the unemployment line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just lay off an entire group with one day's notice. Give employees that you lay off an opportunity to come back to the company in other positions. Your current employees can't focus on their jobs because they are too afraid of loosing they jobs. Do you really care like you say you do in the speeches that you make?

I have been working at Computer Sciences Corp full-time

    Pros

If you're the type of person who likes being micro-managed and not having to think at your job, then this is the company for you. It's a job for those whom just don't like to rock the boat, whom are conservative in their approach

    Cons

Don't expect to be able to change processes, procedures, or technology because you will be stonewalled with a large amount of bureaucratic nonsense. Mostly other people protecting themselves, their jobs, and the value "they" bring to the organization. There are 0 outlets for growth and change within the organization, and one of the most common complaints in the group I'm in is that they're so stonewalled that every person jumps at the opportunity to learn something "new".

New policy in place pretty much negates any chance at a raise. In fact, raises haven't been given to most employees for years since the "reorganization".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize your stars from the bottom up. With the transformation you're going through, you should really bypass the middle managers who only have the status quo at heart. Pull talent from your internal resource pools, of which you have a great many--but many are also leaving because of the aforementioned issues.
