Compuware – “This company is headed for the dust bin of technology vendors who's day is way past.”

Pros

I joined the company because my perception was that Compuware cared about it's employees and expoused mid-west family values and beliefs. I also believed they were a strong player in the application lifecycle management space, an area where my skills fit best.

Cons

Process, process and more process. Narrow thinking, political chaos, unsupportive managers and apathy in knowing there is nothing anyone can do to change the culture of the company. Its Peter Karmanos; a negative, small thinking individual who reached the zenith of his positive influence on the company in the 70's and hasn't changed. Very old school mentality pushing blue collar ideals on a company fixated on the past and with a total disconcern for its customers. A truly negative place to work.

Advice to Senior Management

No feeddback to the senior management would have any impact. They are all working at the behest of Pete Karmanos. They dare not conflict with him or they'll find themselves out of a job.
