I have been working at Compuware full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Compuware acquired some market leading technologies. They are focusing on being experts in the world of Application Performance Management. They want to set the standard for that part of the industry and are doing well at acquiring the pieces to make that happen.

Cons

They can't hold on to SME's, they change leadership quickly, they have no long term vision and they re-strategize 2 or more times per year, they don't listen to the customers or salespeople and are WAY behind with product updates and enhancements of some of their older technologies. They cripple their sales people by micro-managing expenses, sales activities, and have leadership that is more driven by operations and finance than sales and revenue.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell off the separate business units within the company. Start investing in the product development and people who are responsible for generating revenue. Stop making sure that everyone in Detroit has a job. There are people at this company who have been there for over 20 years simply because of who they know and not what they do! Stop segregating your salesforce! It doesn't really matter, you won't ever read this because you don't care. I'm quitting after this fiscal year anyway. The grass is DEFINITELY greener somewhere else.

    Focused on meeting customer expectations. Tries to foster teamwork.

    Lack of sense of 'community'.

    Try to build a sense of community even though folks are geographically dispersed per their assignments.
