I have been working at Compuware

Pros

A few good reasons to choose Compuware include Covisint and the fact that Compuware gives their employees great health benefits. It is hard to work for a company that can fluctuate drastically from always focusing on the employee to just looking at the bottom dollar. Employees would get Christmas cashews, family picnics, and parties to make them feel as part of the Compuware family. This is no longer the case and if that doesn't change, then this will be just another one of those regular Software companies. The rest of the progress of this company will rely on the executive management.

Cons

Everyone is always looking out for themselves, which leaves people at client sites stuck in a dead end billable job and they are not able to advance their careers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to get better at advancing client site employees.

    Pros

Excellent client base. Pay given even while off assignment. Strong focus and commitment to training. Bonus paid to consultants who maintain 100% billability - up to $300 per month.

    Cons

Senior leadership seems focused solely on products and solutions, with Professional Services as an afterthought. Timing of merit increases as changed the last two years, causing some level of concern. Only 2 weeks paid vacation given to employees with less than 5 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compuware 2.0 rebranding effort generated good publicity but need to be able to sustain with existing and new clients. Naming Bob Paul as successor is also a good move.
