I have been working at Concordia University

Pros

Flexible and comfortable culture. Some great people to work with. Location is strategic. Opportunities exist from within. Experience is worthwhile and great on the CV.

Cons

Politics in general (which is the case in many huge organisations). Some not so great people to work with. Opportunity attainment can be difficult even if one qualifies.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leading such an esteem organisation with all the expectations from within and from the community can be difficult and a challenge which will hinder progress to the general workforce. Clarity for the sake of the good University community will help.

I have been working at Concordia University

    Pros

Autonomy of decision making re: curriculum and syllabus

    Cons

Institution does not care about it's part-timers, and treats us as expendable and unimportant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that over 50% of your professors work in a part-time capacity - this is an enormous percentage of your workforce. You need to treat us with greater respect.
