I worked at Conestoga-Rovers & Associates full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

At first there were, but no pros - employees are treated poorly

Cons

Used to be a "family oriented" environment, however became the exact opposite of that. Now a very political envirnoment where managers harass thier employees and HR does nothing about it; even with numerous complaints...........its about who you know and if you are willing to put in 50 hours a week, to ensure billability, in order to advance, if you don't want to, well then you will never advance - quote un-quote

Advice to Management

Make sure that people you promote to manage employees are capable of doing it, give them training and monitor them by getting feedback from the employees;

    I worked at Conestoga-Rovers & Associates full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    There is an opportunity to work on projects throughout North America and gain a lot of experience on various types of projects working with a lot of great people.

    Cons

    The company is very much an old boys club with an expectation to work 50 plus hours every week. If you are not willing to work long hours your career will not go anywhere; definitely not a job for someone who wants to spend time with their family.

    Advice to Management

    There is a much needed change needed in the perception of hard work, and should not solely be based on the hours worked. Bonuses should not only be awarded to those who work long hours, many employees work very hard and accomplish a great deal in a regular work day.

    I have been working at Conestoga-Rovers & Associates full-time

    Pros

    Flexability, the company SEEMS to be ppro family.

    Cons

    Low pay, unless you get X-Bonus. Diffrent set of rules apply to upper management so be prepared to be treated like you are 2nd class. Insurance is very expensive. Do the work of 4 while getting paid below market.

    Advice to Management

    Pay the people what they are worth, NOT what you think you can get away with. Dont base your paygrade on what some society of enginers in Canada says they should make but on the local market.
