Pros

The company has been fairly stable even during the big downturn. You'll get to work with fairly advanced ASIC designs if you're in that end of the business.

Cons

Firmware development is not exactly state-of-the-art, though improvements are being made all the time. Projects often end up being late - leading to long hours and stress. So, if you have a balance between work and home normally it will be thrown off when crunch time comes.

Advice to Senior Management

There are lots of ways to improve software/firmware development efforts - CMMI, agile and such - it'd be great to see adoption of those techniques.
