Pros

Compensation is above average
Work/life balance
Employee empowerment
Trying to develop people
Business growth has been explosive

Cons

Frequent Intervals of micromanagement
Lack of consistent employee empowerment
Can have a timeclock mentality versus goal based work environment
At times there is a lack of timely decision making

Focus on goals versus employee workhours
Ensure employees are able to "carry their weight" and are not there solely due to past performance

    I have been working at Connolly full-time

    Pros

    Work at home. Some hope that new owner will look at the mess this company is and try to fix it. A possibility that CMS will notice the lack of concern about fraud and the inconsistent reviews.

    Cons

    Connolly will pressure for large amounts of overtime for salaried employees. Information wanted in medical reviews keep increasing, expectations per contract for 20-22 charts per day do not decrease, charts keep increasing in size. Company is learning as they go per Medical Director and do not know what they are doing so demands change weekly or more often. Too many non production -pseudo management-drones with there first chance to have "power"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make some of your management people work claims periodically to keep them reality based. More open communication. Stop trying to hide things, it always is discovered and cuts into credibility and trust. A word to venture capitalist/owner, your main problem is poor management, might be better to cut your losses and start fresh with outside people who understand a big company. This was a small company that grew to fast and cannot adjust. Also might help to hire and experienced person to handle claims traffic. The many errors in assigning and controlling production cut into profits.
