To sign a contract with the labor unions with a 3% increase and $2500 signing bonus and then freeze salary increases for non-union is absolutely horrid. Nothing like a kick in the teeth for those of us on the salary side. As far as severences go, there are more than 4% of the workforce that have very little contribution to the quality of the company. In our facility alone, I could easily point out 20% that we could do without and still get by.
Advice to Senior Management
Open your eyes and see the deadwood that needs to be purged to lower our overhead.
