I worked at Constellation Energy Commodities

    Pros

Experience experience experience. Learn all you can and meet some great people. Management is a very political backstabbing circle of friends. Not recommend getting into management level as it can hurt your career long run, skew the real world and hurt your ethics.

    Cons

Location Location Location, Baltimore enough said. Terrble place to live. Sub par city and nast environment to look at. Can be viewed as a jerk as many there think they created the business when in fact they are just part of a large industry and have risen to the top of the game (for now) due to willingness to do anything to meet street expectations ( now that game is over)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please consider the money you are taking from shareholders. Do you really believe that your efforts deserve the money you have been taking as "pay" justified? Performance metrics of company as of late questioned. Been there too long and the games you play with accounting are becoming news now, its just about over.
Look at the business as if your part of it not as if you own and created it. Your an employee too. CEG owes a lot of debt due to management need to grow for personal gains.

I have been working at Constellation Energy Commodities full-time

    Pros

Pay well and decent job security. Co-workers are generally nice and pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Merger has been a failure. New Exelon management makes political decisions rather than focusing on what is right or makes money. They bought a private equity shop and are destroying it and the culture that built it. Extremely political environment - the Constellation meritocracy has been dismantled and experienced, intelligent Constellation managers report to a good old boy network with half the IQ. Expect strong turnover next year.
