I have been working at Consumer Cellular full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Friendly environment, very little office drama, good starting pay.

Cons

Absolutely no advancement outside of the call center chain of command. Constantly changing expectations.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to employee concerns. We are not all idiots. When you solicit questions at company meetings, give real answers instead of pretending not to be aware of an issue or saying that it isn't an issue. Stop pretending that this is the same place it was 2 years ago, things have changed.

    I worked at Consumer Cellular full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    They really treat their employees right. Volunteer opportunities, holiday or anniversary celebrations, bonuses. Friendly management. They care about the customers. A real family business. Ask what you don't know. They are happy to answer questions and welcome it.

    Cons

    Strict attendance policies don't always fit with real life scenarios.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You do have to keep everyone reigned in to avoid employees taking advantage of you, but loosen up the policies a little. Otherwise, I think management is friendly and approachable.

    I worked at Consumer Cellular full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Easiest job you will ever have. If you are looking for just a paycheck until you find something better this is the perfect place for you!

    Cons

    Commission is terrible. I sold 116 phones only got a couple hundred in commission. I come from the retail said if I sold that many phones that would be a couple thousand in commission.

    It's really easy to be fired. For example if you take more calls per hour than the avg rep they will monitor every single call. If you aren't perfect on all the calls they monitor you will get fired even if you have high call quality scores.

    Don't expect this to be a career path.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get everyone on the same page. Make selling worth it by increasing commission.
