Continental Airlines – “Great place to work.”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
The company offers excellent flight benefits and acceptable health benefits. It is a solid company, and it's easy to tell they actually care about their employees. Everyone is kept in the loop as to what is going on with the company.
The pay scale is based on the amount of time you have worked there, and after spending a few years with the company, you can make decent money, assuming you get paid hourly and are not on salary.
Overall, it is a great place to work and there seems to be plenty of room for advancement if you work hard.
Cons
For some positions, the schedule is terrible. It is all based on seniority. This is probably the best way to do it, but that does not mean everyone will be happy with it. The vacation schedule is also based on seniority, and you have to decide when your vacations will be at the beginning of the year.
Also, with oil prices and the economy what they are, layoffs are very possible. This isn't the company's fault, though. From what I understand, they are usually pretty good about bringing laid off employees back once this becomes at all possible. Good company.
