Continental Airlines – “Continental is a great place to work if you don't need to make much money and you love to travel!!”

The best reasons to work for Continental Airlines are the flight benefits, the 401K, the way the company is always adding to their pension plan, if you don't call in sick for 6 months, you're entered into the drawing to win a new car. The employees are for the most part treated with dignity and respect and there is opportunity for advancement. Any new policies or things employees need to know will be given to employees in a meeting or in the daily online newsletter which is e-mailed. I think most employees are satisfied working for the company, the company does try to do what's best for everyone and not just what's best for management.
Cons
Some of the downsides of working at Continental are the low pay, unless you're in a higher paying position. Since the industry isn't doing so well right now, you have the possibility of being a victim of the job cuts if they make more next year. In 2008 enough people volunteered to retire early or to take unpaid leave of absences so they didn't have to make many cuts, but with the economy the way it is, only time will tell what the next few years bring to this industry. Some of the management could be better. Some things are just not handled in a professional way.
Advice to Senior Management
Advice for Senior Management would be to ask employees how things are going and really listen to their answers.
