I worked at Continental Airlines full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great company that should have given its employees a better retirement plan and protection for their seniority benefits. Medical insurance and 401K plans are good.

Cons

No guarantee that you still have a job the next day. They can always just tell you that you are no longer needed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep politics away from this job.

    I worked at Continental Airlines

    Pros

Travel benefits, nice and friendly colleagues, very laid back place but the culture depends heavily on individual divisions. social activities from time to time.

    Cons

slow career progression, hard to stand out from peers due to the large number of employees, somehow hard landing before the merger

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

give more opportunity to baseline employees, help employees to transit better in face of the merger, raise the compensation level

I have been working at Continental Airlines

    Pros

very well-rounded company. medical, 401k, annual raises, perfect attendance recognition, the best flexibility in the industry, most important: employees like working with each other.

    Cons

the way our merger happened was unnecessary. continental, if possible, should have taken over united. this merger was messy, rushed and not enough research on cost-effective staffing was accomplished. continental employees will rise above and survive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try to keep continental values and work ethics through these tough and uncertain times of a merger.
