I have been working at Convergys full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Easy to move up if you are an ethical and hard worker. Awesome co-workers (depending on your account). Lots of employee appreciation stuff throughout the year. Most supervisors worked their way up from the bottom of the ladder.

Cons

Because it's a vendor site, pay is low compared to positions working directly for the client. High advisor turnover rate.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better health plans and a 10% raise would be huge incentive for your workers to stay longer.

    I worked at Convergys full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Beautiful building! Regarding SBS department: great 8-week paid training, trainers are great. Nice size work stations with 2 monitors. Apparently this department is the best to work for at Convergys (?)

    Cons

    Management knows the product but I don't think any of them have "managerial experience with people". No work/life balance, employee is expected to work their life AROUND the job, and not balanced. New employees always get late night shifts (understood being the new kid on the block), however must stay in that schedule for at least 90 days, then can only change shifts depending on performance; no thought ever given to school, families, etc. No further training after first 8 weeks even with as quickly as technology changes. Time off accrued by the hour and if you ask for time off, sometimes you'll be approved, then when the time comes, you are denied, being told if you leave for your approved time off, you are literally walking off the job. VERY high employee turnover and supervisors change teams very often: I had 4 different supervisors in 3 months. The right hand never knew what the left hand was doing. Starting pay in this dept. is better than most ($11.00), but for all that's expected, that wage is much too low. Absolutely no parking unless you arrive before 6am, then if you go to lunch, prepare to return at least 15 minutes before expected in order to find a new parking spot. Benefits were TERRIBLE with huge deductibles as well as very pricey.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat employees with respect, taking into consideration that we DO have a life outside Convergys (families, school, 2nd jobs, etc.). Don't expect employees to perform tasks/duties that you wouldn't be willing to do yourself. Rules should be the same for all employees/departments: i.e. don't tell some employees their cell phones cannot be seen or used on the floor, while others talk on theirs with no reprimand.
