Pros

Flexibility
location
most co-workers are wonderful and talented individuals
teamwork

Cons

upper Management relies to heavily on subordinates to do tasks they really need to be involved in
lack of communication with subordinates
often like a chess game who do you trust and who stands to gain your position

Advice to Management

take notice better of what their job truly entails and learn how much work lower level people do to make your everyday work environment productive. Also never use your lower level department heads inappropriately you never know who they may work for next or meet in their travels that could actually leverage your next business deal or diminish it.

    Pros

The people who work at Converse are really good people who are passionate about what they do. The employees are typically fairly young and provide fresh ideas and are willing to learn.

Great discounts among all brands - Nike, Converse, Cole Haan, Hurley and Umbro.

    Cons

Being owned by Nike, Converse has become more and more political which is disappointing. The company is getting larger and its easy to see these two companies uniting into one.

    Advice to Management

At Converse, the employees are the company's greatest asset and I would urge to make sure they are well compensated and find out what motivates them.

    - fellow employees are fun / interesting people
    - fairly nice benefits package
    - laid back office environment
    - all in all good on paper

    Cons

    Cons
    - very little opportunity for advancement

    - management has limited viewpoint, not open to new ideas
    - rhetoric takes precedence over integrity

    Advice to Management

Stop talking about being a world class company and actually practice what you preach. Work on corporate culture so employees feel valued- they'll work better, harder for you.
