I have been working at Copart

Pros

They had a great start when they went public and have been on the Fortune 500 list for years.

Cons

Recent employee treatment and corporate decisions are making it a difficult place to feel comfortable and safe in our jobs.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees are assets... Not solely cost figures. We all miss Willis.

I have been working at Copart

    Pros

Really good co-workers, made friends for life. Stock option purchase plan is good and it is a financially strong company.

    Cons

For engineering or TSS related jobs: Upper Management doesn't respect employees and does not reward or recognize them for going beyond expectations. The pay is below Bay Area standards - this company is a money making machine and doesn't pay the employees well. Now that the economy and jobs seem to be picking up, good people are leaving the company.

I have been working at Copart

    Pros

Avoiding a long commute, the people

    Cons

Sr. Management can't make up their minds about anything, from vacation policy to dress code to project design and implementation. Micro-managing from the top executives has brought a whole new meaning to the word. As a result, they are hiring 50 people one month, and laying off another 50 the next. Since Willis left, Copart has become very unstable and I would not recommend this place to anyone, even if you are only contracting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire good people to manage, then trust and LET them do their jobs.
