Doesn't Recommend
Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Experienced and competent co-workers Good benefits Downtown location

Cons

Promotions are often of the wrong people into the wrong jobs With few exceptions, managers are ineffective team leaders Director level and above management is, for the most part, out of touch with employees Lack of trust in upper management Initiative to improve culture is being led by CEO and cronies

Advice to Management

Managers should be selected and promoted by their ability to lead a team toward common goals, not based on their tenure or success in pet projects Consider programs such as Six Sigma to enact change/growth of focused, competent managers CEO should excuse himself from projects to improve company culture

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Intelligent colleagues, great benefits packages, beautiful and relevant photography, the existence of numerous offices outside the United States gives relevant global perspective on stock photography usage trends.

    Cons

Corporate direction often clashed with customers' needs, major layoffs 1-2 times every year, inconsistent rewards for job performance, stagnant career paths.

    Advice to Management

Provide consistent recognition and rewards for annual job performance, listen to the needs of editorial clients (not just advertising/commercial clients), provide opportunities for colleagues to learn other jobs in the company, provide mentoring at all levels.
