There are many companies that do it well or maybe just 'ok'. Corbis is not one of them.

    Pros

The location is good, if you like having a bail bondsman close by
Compensation was fair, health benefits are good
Non leadership types are genuine and fun to work with

    Cons

Immature leadership team that lacks talent, the technology organization is a prime example. Lose the top IT leadership (dead weight with serious credibility issues).

Rapidly losing market share; layoffs are still a recurring theme

C levels do not have the vision, focus or discipline to get the job done. They sure think they are bright, confidence doesn't appear to be the problem.

Attrition is really heating up and will continue to be an issue as the economy heals but the company continues to travel down the drain.

    Advice to Management

HR types and managers are obviously posting the 5 star reviews of the company, that is laughable. Start doing assessments of yourselves and the organization, make the necessary changes needed in order to move forward. Clean up your image by leading by example. You aren't doing it today and you are allowing poor decisions by junior leaders. Growing up is tough but so is unemployment.

Corbis IT - Bad, Real Bad

    Pros

Nice people all personable. Single people in the organization are fun. They have a good internship program for college kids. Seattle is a great place to live. I really like the imagery. It is really really nice.

    Cons

Poor, very poor IT technology, except for Search. No, zero, zilch, non-existent IT leadership. Most senior people, including top leadership are on vacation or are working from home every other week (Fridays and Mondays) making Friday nights working for the real working people. IT team only does what we are told by other people - even those who have no understanding of issues with software development. We are told to just do heroic efforts all the time. With layoffs, workload has increased - significantly. Rewards are not there. Company does not want to spend money to bring strong leadership.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company or bring strong IT leadership. Someone who understands complexities of large enterprise systems and is not just a web developer.
Someone should send glassdoor reviews to sr. management.
