There are many companies that do it well or maybe just 'ok'. Corbis is not one of them.

    I worked at Corbis full-time

    Pros

The location is good, if you like having a bail bondsman close by
Compensation was fair, health benefits are good
Non leadership types are genuine and fun to work with

    Cons

Immature leadership team that lacks talent, the technology organization is a prime example. Lose the top IT leadership (dead weight with serious credibility issues).

Rapidly losing market share; layoffs are still a recurring theme

C levels do not have the vision, focus or discipline to get the job done. They sure think they are bright, confidence doesn't appear to be the problem.

Attrition is really heating up and will continue to be an issue as the economy heals but the company continues to travel down the drain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR types and managers are obviously posting the 5 star reviews of the company, that is laughable. Start doing assessments of yourselves and the organization, make the necessary changes needed in order to move forward. Clean up your image by leading by example. You aren't doing it today and you are allowing poor decisions by junior leaders. Growing up is tough but so is unemployment.

    I worked at Corbis

    Pros

Great collection of images, never ending funding

    Cons

incompetant technology leader, she is more a cheer leader than an IT leader.
    very prejudicial environment.
lay offs lay offs all the time
corbis cannot attract or retain taent, good people never join even if they do they quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get a more competant IT leader, not this lady who laughs loudly and gets attention.
recognize people's talent even if you don't like them personally so they don't leave
