Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in Westlake, TX

I worked at CoreLogic full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The pay was good. Co-workers were great. Direct supervisors were fair and knowledgeable, and supportive of a work-life balance. All the basic tools and updated software were provided.

Cons

Upper management was non-communicative and resolutely ivory-tower in its management style. Training was non-existent. Although I did not need much training, long term employees were hopelessly invested in their archaic business processes. The work did not flow. Meetings were unproductive 90% of the time. Conference calls with remote VPs and directors always lacked focus.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to abandon your love affair with offshore contractors. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP. Your customers and employees will tell you that offshoring is outrageously inefficient. It is costing you big time money and goodwill with both customers and suppliers. I couldn’t count the number of hours we spent cleaning up after offshore people because they do not know your business. The current slump in the mortgage business is no excuse to be so mediocre.

A fair company that will reward those who go the extra step.

I have been working at CoreLogic full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you apply yourself the company will go above and beyond to retain you as an employee and provide you with ample reason to stay. The company provides fair evaluations and support including tuition reimbursement, 401k match and decent yearly merit raises.

    Cons

It is very difficult to move up the ladder depending on your department. There is a "good ole boys" club and it can be good or bad depending on your reputation. The company does not have a management training program and consistantly changes on their "perks" including 401k matches (they have changed the matching policy twice this year, thankfully the last time for the better). Lastly the work environment leaves something to be desired (very small cubicles depending on your department).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Given the company it is sometimes hard to break away from repeative operations, however, if you want inspire your employess reinvest into your office environment and expand their chances for moving up. In addition please expand the SPOT award bonus program and begin to publically praise employees that go above and beyond within the department.
