Pros

Exposure to new technologies. The people were fun to work with and for the most part enjoyed their jobs. Employee events, and fun days were appreciated. Very good place to start a career, people in Ottawa recognize the the talent of Corel employees. Free coffee (the good stuff) and pop. Very good work home balance. I was always able to take time from work to look after home and family.

Cons

Long hours without proper compensation. A lot of the time managers felt that it was necessary to do overtime just for the doing overtime. No willingness to provide relevant training. Cut backs and lack of R&D spending limit the amount of positions available to move into.
