I have been working at Corinthian Colleges full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Excellent, smart and over-qualified team in my department. Flexible, understanding and smart boss makes it easy to work on the team. Innovation and ideas encouraged. Telecommute twice a week. No overtime required - nearly everyone is gone at 5 p.m.

Cons

Underpaid for role, work and education; raises (or lack thereof) are ridiculous. Frustrating to see inconsistent HR policies in force and individuals being overpaid while others suffer in the salary department.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up and increase the transparency in the organization.

I worked at Corinthian Colleges full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice location, paid parking, office is close to the freeway exit/entrance, nice building, it's great to take walks around the pond/lake owned by the neighboring office building.

    Cons

A lot of questionable ethics in this organization. The execs take 7 figure bonuses while laying people off. The contractors aren't paid on time, or in any regular/predictable fashion. Supervisors are either micromanagers, or total idiots who don't care about anything (except covering their own tail). There's not a lot of people in this organization who have real business experience outside of this organization (or similar dysfunctional for-profit education corporations).

You have to watch your backside at all times. The goal isn't to hire the best and the brightest - it's to hire people who will do what they are told without asking questions or caring about the consequences.

The business relies heavily on Title IV funding from the federal government, but the executives openly say things like, "The government should mind its own business!" when it comes to expecting students to get a good enough education to pay back student loans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some classes in business ethics, and business management.
