Former Employee - Library Assistant in Ithaca, NY
Former Employee - Library Assistant in Ithaca, NY

I worked at Cornell University part-time (less than a year)

Pros

I worked at one of the library branches as a student employee. The manager was very professional, and I got to interact with professors and students on a direct basis - fulfilling their requests, conversing with them, etc. It was good for money and also good for professional connections.

Cons

No advancement opportunity at the position, but I think if I wanted to I could've continued working elsewhere at CU.

Cornell University is a good place for research work

Current Employee - Postdoctoral Associate in Ithaca, NY
Current Employee - Postdoctoral Associate in Ithaca, NY

I have been working at Cornell University full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of top professors, scientists, and researchers to collaborate with. The university has excellent atmosphere to discuss scientific questions. It also provides plenty of resources for various studies.

    Cons

The campus locates in a small and relatively isolated town. The internet speed is much slower than most universities. The weather is too cold if you are from some warm places.
