You can find work in basically any field you can think of. Most faculty are flexible with work arrangements. If you are motivated, the opportunity to grow and develop is there. You can usually work on meaningful projects.

Cons

Depending on your field, time, money, and resource availability can constrain your work. Advisors could be aloof.
