I have been working at Cornell University

    Pros

There is a strong mentorship model compared to other programs. My advisor and faculty collaborators turned out to be wonderful, but this is not always the case. This type of graduate experience was suitable for me because I had a fair amount of professional experience, but I think it would be a struggle for someone coming directly from undergrad.

    Cons

The lack of structured curriculum has made me feel like my education is uneven. In response to questions about requirements or recommendations, I have often encountered a less-than-helpful "it depends" response.
