Fast-paced environment

Be sure to appreciate the junior and mid level talent you have inside the organization and give them the development opportunities and chances for promotion.

    I worked at Cornerstone OnDemand

    Pros

    - You get praised/like when things go right, but you become a scapegoat when things go wrong... which is a lot of times.
    - Free health/medical insurance
    - You get to work a lot if that's what you like.
    - No boring or laid back day.

    Cons

    - Your life will be consumed here, that even as you are driving home, you are still mentally working and thinking about work.
    - High stress and pressure
    - Despite being praised consistently and working long hours, expect a low raise.
    - Exec management have very low integrity

    Treat your employees the way you want to be treated, then perhaps morale will be higher.

    Pros

    - ‘Customer is King!’ - Dedication to customer satisfaction and service is truly impressive in this company
    - Analyst recognition continues – commitment by this company to product innovation is very high
    - Talented colleagues who pitch in together and make the working environment highly collaborative and enjoyable for everyone
    - Empowering leaders who actively share feedback to ensure excellence – this is the best form of ‘on the job’ and collaborative feedback which allows employees to grow and develop in their roles – and this is done in a positive and open manner
    - Compensation linked to Performance: Yes, hard work is expected – but you are rewarded for your efforts
    - Fundamental values: Believe me; it’s rare to be in a fast-moving environment where respect & fairness is high on the agenda: this is one of the biggest selling points I would make about this company – people at all levels throughout the company are respectful of values and you will meet emotionally intelligent people
    - Fun: This company got its 230+ employees together in November for the 10th year company anniversary – huge investment to give back to its people – they know that great people are their most important asset. In this environment, you are able to be yourself and it’s important as one learns faster and develops his/her skills when feeling comfortable and respected.

    Cons

    - Sometimes there is a lack of internal resources, but the company is working to recruit many more talented people to come on board as the company continues to grow and expand
    - Work/life balance: Sometimes this can be challenging, no matter what role you have in the business (as the growth of this company is phenomenal), however from the CEO to local management they are constantly and proactively finding ways to foster a flexible environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Keep encouraging an environment of meritocracy and transparency – the CEO and management continue to do this very well and employees appreciate this
    - Continue to recruit talented & atypical profiles – those individuals who are ‘smart, savvy and fun’ as Cornerstone continues to grow in the learning and talent management space
