Pros

Employees have purpose and are happy to be and work and are driven to satisfy the customer. There is an air of positive attitude at Corning Cable Systems.

Cons

The hours of salaried field engineers and similar employees range from 40 hours to 80 hours per week. The salary does not compensate for the hardships of the first year and a half. There is no tuition assistance for lower level positions, only for those who are in the mid to upper management.

Advice to Senior Management

Apply individual performance compensation for ower level positions and do away with goal sharing. Performance compensation could be in the form of money set aside towards an individual employee tution assistance account or cash bonus.
