Corning – “Corning - Great Place to Work!”
Pros
Great opportunities to engage in shaping the future of the company and contributing to it's success. Team oriented atmosphere allows people to tackle tough problems and get recognized for their talents.
Cons
If you are not a very self driven and focused individual you can flounder at Corning. There is not a strong leadership training process or "leadership factory" you can enter in to that will propell someone into leadership roles. Corning is a very autonomous organization so you have to market your ideas across the organization, which can be time consuming.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to focus on the long term future of the company and not fall in to the trap of other Fortune 500 companies, that manage to stock price and industry analysts.
