Approves of CEO

I worked at Corning as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Corning is invested in its employees and wants to help them learn and grow Great supervisors Wonderful people Friendly environment Opportunities for ongoing training Fun opportunities for activities outside of work Opportunities for advancement Tasty cafeterias Good compensation Real emphasis on the company's values

Cons

The culture is very polite, so it can sometimes be hard to be as direct as might be needed. Can't think of too much else - I had a great experience

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Corning full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very high tech and impressive business. No scrubs allowed here, either produce or you will be cut, as it should be.

    Cons

Nothing specific to say against the company, some of the employees are irritating, but that happens anywhere. Not an easy job.

I have been working at Corning as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Educated teammates, salary, benefits, work and life balance, mixture of cultures. Some positions may get boring on the long run. Mine was not boring.

    Cons

Small town. But if you like country style without cowboys then it,s ok

    Advice to Management

Try to reduce the qty of mid managers. More hands-on engineers instead
