Pros

Meet a wide variety of people. Unique merchandise. Enjoyed selling various items to customers from different countries.

Cons

Can be stressful. Limited tools to do your job successfully. work conditions can be substandard at times.

Be prepared to get the job done by ant means necessary!

    Supportive coworkers, nice imports, interesting customers

    Cons

    Hard concrete floor
    Low wages
    Very, very hard to sell the explorer program to customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please take a day from corporate and try to be a sales associate walking on a hard, concrete floor and dealing with some rude customers. Please stop bullying sales associates to maintain a thirty percent explorer capture rate. Please have respect for the sales associates and store employees.

    I have been working at Cost Plus part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Cost Plus is a very easy job whether your working as a stock associate, floor associate or management. If you can deal will the occasional snobby customer then you can handle the job. I'd say that's the only pro though.

    Cons

    - The POS systems and inventory systems are verrrry outdated. Since the BBB takeover they have updated a few things like paging and phones.
    - There is a lack of communication throughout the whole company. It's hard and near impossible to find one solid answer to anything. Everyone seems to have there own special answer which makes it hard to keep things consistent.
    - NO TRAINING.

    implement a training program and get everyone one the same page
