Costco Wholesale – “Ask for managers, get four different answers.”

Costco is a great company but it really depends on the location you work in. This is my third warehouse and it's the most corrupt warehouse. Nothing is done by the book. Moral is low in this warehouse. A pat on the back is something you don't see in this warehouse. God for bid if a manager could thank you for a job well done. There is no positive reinforcement except if you make a mistake you can forget about it. Management only dwells on the negative never the positive. I do 110% each shift I work. I'm a team player and have no problem working hard or taking direction. I keep my nose clean and do the best that I can do and no matter how hard I work, try I still manage to get into trouble. I've been written up so many times I'm considered a problem child in the eyes of management. If there are 3 employees that do the same thing and it could be wrong, I'm the only one spoken to. I feel I get picked on for no reason except for a supervisor or manager to feel "empowered".Not all employees are treated the same, believe me. Some employees will never be seen sweeping, doing trash or go backs and they are in the same capacity as me. At our warehouse we have managers dating employees directly under them so you know why these employees don't have to do the same chores as the rest of us. The warehouse i work in has their own personal handbook/set of rules. The general manager walks around yelling at everyone putting pressure on the supervisors who in turn take it out on non-supervisors. It's the most overwhelming and stressful position that I have ever held. I understand without members there would be no Costco and I'm grateful for my job and to the members who shop there. Most of the members are really nice but some are so mean, nasty and bark at you like your so beneath them. Some members that have waited in the gas line, waited for a parking space, waited in the membership line or the RX line are so frustrated by the time they reach the front end they want to rip our heads off. Then they decide to make up a story of how rude we were to them, they decide to either write to corporate or they send a note to the general manager which by then management has taken their side and the employee is written up for a bad attitude. Sure the employee can deny what was written or said but management already has their mind made up and it doesn't matter because the management are just spineless jellyfish who kiss the members butt. With that, these members feel they can go into costco and raise as much hell as they want, because Costco will kiss their butt in return. I see it everyday.
