I worked at Cotton On part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

50% off discount, thats about it

    Cons

casual employees are totally disposable, they never get trained, get no praise or acknowledgment for what they do, music is WAY too loud in stores (you end up yelling at customers), unrealistic expectations of senior management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

dont have such unrealistic expectations for sales staff, actually praise and reward people who use initiative and show commitment.

I have been working at Cotton On full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

the discount of sales assistant in 2012 is quite good.

    Cons

the only issue i have is that staff are asked to work long shifts everyday and are expected to say yes and when they say no, the higher staff then told the current staff that they weren't good enough for the job and they need to try harder.
this particular staff member worked 7 hours without meal break and was reduced to tears when she asked to go home.
she was told to harden up and extra hours was her responsibility.
they dont care that staff have appointments to attend or have to leave on the dot.
this particular staff member has missed doctors appointments and an open house so she could find somewhere to live.
this company does not care for it's staff members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

staff can only work the hours that you roster them on for. do not expect them to be available for shifts they aren't rostered on for.
