I have been working at Coty full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Nice people, good pay, good benefits, global company with many locations.

Cons

Upper management can be scatterbrained. Lots of good teachers and philosophizers throughout leadership but the same people have trouble when it comes to coming up with how to do or manage the work and resources. Also a complete lack of motivation to develop or grow employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not enough coaching and feedback. Too many decisions behind closed doors. No transparency (although getting better). Too little time spent on the production floor. No "teaching by doing" going on.

    Pros

Discount on products (limited and/or hard to get certain products).

    Cons

It's who you know, not what you know. Only "whites" get promoted to management positions. Some upper management are racist.

Budget cuts means you doing three/four jobs but still getting one pay check. No appreciation. No bonus or raise. No matter how hard you work, you review will only be average (my manager said that's normal).

Rules and polices are not company wide, but targeted for people they do not like (to make you unhappy and leave).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want really quality workers, treat them well so they won't leave. If you want to build a good company, you should have loyal workers. Revolving door gets you fresh and cheap labor which is often not the best. Nothing can beat experience.

People getting promotion after having a relation with their boss is not a good example. Inexperience interns becoming a Analyst in 6 months and then a manager in and other 6 also makes people wonder...
